We’ve been involved in a development project for a hillclimb racing car. Starting from the 3d scan of the original VW Golf Mk7 chassis, we CAD designed the safety cage, according to the FIA prescriptions for the homologation of custom cages.
To get the FIA approval, a physical test has to be carried out this time. In addition to the engineering activities, we managed the liaison between Manufacturer, ASN (Aci Sport) and FIA-recognized test lab. As a result, the safety cage has been tested and approved at the first attempt, allowing the Team to complete the manufacturing of the car on time.
